The eighth generation of the Impala came with the choice of 3.4 liter or 3.8 liter V6 engines, each with a 4 speed automatic transmission. This particular range also released a ‘Police Package’ that boasted higher performance capabilities and stronger suspension. Inspection of throttle linkage is recommended every 6 months, while replacement of PCV valve, spark plug wires and fuel filter may be required every 24 months (or at 30,000 mile intervals).
